This is the second installment of our weekly “Date Night” series, and I’ve already made a faux pas….This activity isn’t at night, but it sure makes a great date!
Sunday marks the last guided canoe trip of the month for Chattahoochee Nature Center. My husband and I did this in fall last year, and we loved it. Our guide took us along the Chattahoochee, past the towering rock/stone walls, and into parts of the Chattahoochee that you can only see by water. He pointed out various birds and other critters, and told us stories about the changing watershed. It was calm and peaceful, informative…but he wasn’t too chatty. It was a perfect balance.
If you want to make it a family date, then a third seat can be purchased for 1/2 price. Kids 6 and older can be in a canoe as long as an adult is also in the canoe.
You’ll finish about lunch time, so mosey over to Historic Roswell for a bit. You can’t go wrong with any of the selections, but on a sunny Sunday afternoon I’d pick a spot on the lawn at Nine Street Kitchen.
